Keke Palmer is a talented American actress, singer, and television host. She was born on August 26, 1993, in Harvey, Illinois, and began her career as a child actress, making her debut in the film "Barbershop 2: Back in Business" in 2004. She then went on to star in several movies and TV shows, including "Akeelah and the Bee," "True Jackson, VP," and "Scream Queens."

In addition to her acting career, Palmer is known for her singing and songwriting abilities. She released her debut album "So Uncool" in 2007 and has since released several singles and EPs. She has also hosted several TV shows, including "Just Keke" and "Strahan, Sara and Keke;ā€ as well as made appearances on talk shows such as ā€œSaturday Night Live,ā€ amongst others.

Palmer is known for her talent, versatility, and outspokenness. She has been praised for her performances and has won several awards throughout her career. She advocates for various social causes and often involves herself with charity work.

KeKe gave birth to a baby boy in February 2023 with her then boyfriend- Darius Jackson, a fellow actor and fitness instructor.

More recently, she made headlines for attending an Usher concert in Las Vegas and dancing with the R&B sensation wearing a see through dress. This prompted a very public and embarrassing post by KeKeā€™s childā€™s father who did not attend stating: ā€œreally? You a whole mom.ā€

This raised eyebrows and much controversy as conversations sparked across social media and transcended in real life. Many women supported the pride and freedom KeKe displayed of her postpartum body while some men agreed it was an inappropriate display for a new mom and partner.

Not much later in the year, on August 19, 2023, KeKe and Usher released a song collaboration titled, ā€œBoyfriend.ā€ This seemed like KeKe and Usherā€™s direct response to the Vegas incident as lyrics stated: ā€œSomebody said that your boyfriend's lookin' for me, Oh, that's cool, that's cool, Well, he should know I'm pretty easy to find, Just look for me wherever he sees you.ā€

Feel free to check the song out for yourself here: https://youtu.be/56CW4SIqBzk?si=bhlq-PlIenMMz3hJ

Months later, videos surfaced of KeKeā€™s partner dragging her through a house and grabbing her on a staircase. On Thursday November 9, 2023, KeKeā€™s mom who hardly ever shows face or speaks out on public platforms, had words to say. She expressed deep concern and anger toward KeKeā€™s partner- Darius Jackson - who has allegedly been causing domestic violence and abuse toward her daughter. By the next morning, it was reported that KeKe Palmer had filed for a restraining order against Darius and sole custody of their son, and was granted it.

This was the quickest domestic case filing and granting we have ever seen! But more power to the Palmers! We wish to express our love and support for KeKe during this time and hope this outpour of positive energy is delivered to victims of domestic violence and abuse around the globe.

*****

Dear #KeKe, we love you and support you as you fight through the survival of your ex-partner, childā€™s father, and domestic violence abuser.

As a domestic violence survivor myself, I must express my deepest sympathy for the traumatic experience youā€˜ve encountered. Domestic violence is a devastating and all too common issue that affects millions of people around the world. It takes immense courage to speak out, self defend, and seek help; and I want you to know that you are not alone.

Your safety and well-being are of the utmost importance, so I urge you to seek support from a trusted friend, family member, or professional. There are numerous resources available to help you, such as domestic violence hotlines, counseling services, and shelters. These organizations are staffed with compassionate individuals who are dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence in any way they can. As ready and willing resources become available such as 1.800.LIFENET, we will update and share them here.Ā

It is important to remember that you are not to blame for what has happened to you. No one deserves to be subjected to violence or abuse, and you have the right to live a life free from fear and harm.

I also hope you understand that you were likely targeted for your bright spirit and warm heart, in which violent narcissists often try to take down. In the midst of dealing with this similarly in my life, it took many years before I realized that even our own partners can be our enemy. They may see a slight flaw or insecurity in a glowing soul like yours and decide to seep in slowly in efforts to break that weak little link. However, we are not defined by our weakest link, but instead are empowered by our strongest ones.

As Dr. Jackie of BravoTVā€™s ā€œMarried to Medicineā€ stated during a recent Mommination Brunch, ā€œlet your struggle become your strength.ā€

Please do not hesitate to reach out for help, and know that there are people like myself and like your mom, who care about you and want to see you safe.

Sincerely,
The Luxe Library Founder
